The honeymoon is over for PC gamers using Xbox Game Pass.
Having just discovered the service in recent weeks (and aquiring Microsoft Flight Simulator in the process), Xbox Game Pass for PC is officially exiting beta.
Exiting beta also means exiting beta prices.
Up to today, gamers could subscribe to the the service for €1 for the first month followed by rolling €3.99 monthly payments – my kind of pricing. Effecting 17 September, the notes dropped into mail and chat from Xbox Live outlines the “recurring monthly subscription fee is increasing from €3.99 to €9.99” with the new rate charged – in my case – on my first billing date post 31 October, unless you choose to cancel.
Considering I’ve been dropping some time on Streets Of Rage 4 and I’m about 4 races into my fledgling F1 2019 career, plus I’ve got an entire world to discover yet in Flight Simulator, it’s still a steal at a tenner a month.
And sure with little in terms of pubs, gigs, comedy, theatre or anything else to be going to, what else would you be doing!
Oh, and it’s also worth noting that included in the monthly sub will be EA Play, as soon as it launches. That means access to NHL 20, Madden 20, Rocket Arena, NFS Heat, Battlefield V, Anthem and a whole host of other EA titles
