Seeing the Gotham Knights footage for the first time makes me want to shave 100gb off my current PS4 storage just to get back in the Batmobile.
WB Games Montréal is behind the release and it’s slated for 2021.
The Arkham series of games is one of my all-time favourites and, much like the Band Of Brothers box set, I’m back to them on a near annual basis for a run through until I lose the run of myself trying to get all the Riddler trophies in Arkham Knight.
Sans cut-scene on sunny shores, Arkham Knight ultimately reflecting Jim Gordon’s words “this is how it happened, this is how the Batman died”. Cue Knightfall, cue explosions, cue no more Batman.

As the dialogue from the Caped Crusader himself goes,
“If you’re watching this, I’m dead. This is code black.”
“This message was automatically triggered when I destroyed the cave and everything it contained. We both know it won’t take long for Gotham’s criminals to realise The Batman is gone, and you can’t count on the GCPD. They haven’t trusted us since Jim died.”
“Gotham will need its protectors more than ever. I’m leaving you the belfry as a base of operations. Some of the technology is outdated, but it has the gear you need and all my files.”
“You’ve always had my back when I needed you. I know you’ll keep Gotham safe.”
“Good luck. And goodbye.”

The game might be venturing down the Assassin’s Creed route when it comes to levelling up to take on your enemies, but I’m sold.
The game’s release date isn’t set in stone, but it is planned for PC< PS4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X. 2021 will see the release, my money is on the Autumn and give it a full 12 months.
With The Batman delayed in cinemas until next October, there’s fine time to get it out for the Christmas and next-gen rush.
